Vijay Sikka is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sikka Software Corporation. Under his leadership, Sikka Software has grown from a start-up to have over 35,000 practice installations and 120m patients on its platform for healthcare on the demand side and over 50 companies which have built applications on the supply side. Prior to Sikka Software, Vijay has worked in Artificial Intelligence and decision systems for more than 25 years of experience with large scale projects at Intel Corporation, National Institutes of Health, Glaxo Smith Kline, Roche and UCSF affiliates. In 1996, Vijay founded IBrain Software, Inc. that used to compete with Informatica, Hyperion and Cognos and served as its CEO until its acquisition in 1998 by Entigen Corporation, a healthcare information company that later became part of Roche. After that Vijay co-founded Bodha.com that was acquired by Peregrine Systems/Remedy that later became part of BMC Software. Vijay holds an M.S. degree in EE and AI from Syracuse University, New York, pursued doctoral studies in neurosciences at Stanford University (incomplete Ph.D), and is a Registered Continuing Education Provider in California. He began his career with Milliman where he rose to Consulting Actuary before moving on to become AIG’s Chief Direct Marketing Actuary. Later at MetLife, he helped build the company’s global direct-to-consumer capabilities and created some of the first fully digital life products in the US. He also served a crucial role in the deal development, pricing, and due diligence of MetLife’s acquisition of AIG’s International Life Company.

Currently, Chris is founder and lead actuary of INSKI Consultants LLC, specializing in digital platform consulting for Insurers, Reinsurers, and Insurtechs. He is equally agile in product development, deal assessments and negotiations, and the analysis of new platforms and tools that are revolutionizing online distribution. Throughout his career he has been the go-to actuary when companies are looking to transform business lines through innovation and unique risk management solutions.

Chris is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin—Madison with Bachelors in Math and English literature. He is an active member of the Society of Actuaries Marketing and Distribution council.

Speaker: Laurie Kaiser is the Director, Underwriting Quality Assurance for SCOR’s Partnership team. With more than 25 years of underwriting experience, Laurie has worked on numerous projects throughout her career involving research and development, predictive modeling, and innovation. She developed and implemented an Underwriter Training program and designed an award-winning mobile application customer interface for agents. Laurie authored “Pediatric Autoimmune Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections”, published by On The Risk magazine, and earning her the 2018 Rick Weaver Award from NEHOUA. Laurie holds her ALU designation and currently serves as Treasurer on the Midwestern Underwriter Committee.

Maryam joins us with a 20+ year track record as a Sales and Customer Service leader, successfully leading teams with a proven ability to optimize results and culture.  After moving to the United States, Maryam joined American Express and has held multiple roles over her 10 year tenure.  In all of her roles, she has been exceptionally passionate about employee development and serving both her internal and external customers.  In one of her most recent roles, Maryam served as an Executive Director and Site Leader for the American Express’ Outbound Sales Channel.  This was a Phoenix, AZ and Sunrise, FL based sales and operations team which accounts for $4B in new customer spend per year.

Maryam received her Bachelor of Science, with a major in Management from the University of Phoenix.

Maryam and her family reside in Phoenix, Arizona.  They love to volunteer and support many community charities including “Furever Friends Rescue” and “Phoenix Children’s Hospital”.  Maryam is also on the board of directors for “Rebuilding Together”, a non-profit focused on free critical home repairs and modifications for veterans, economically- disadvantaged older adults, and families allowing them to remain safe, healthy, and independent in their own homes.
